July Kona Kase Review

Image
Pretty behind on this because it took me a while to sample some of the last items in this box. Excited anyway to share my thoughts on yet another super yummy box!! Anyway, here goes. First up, the PERKY JERKY. Best stuff I have EVER and I mean EVER tasted. Wow. The flavor was amazing and delicious. Next, the Body Glove Surge. I got the double espresso flavor and it was delicious. I just opened it up to taste and will actually have to test the FUEL capacity of it later but it really did taste good. It also didn't have the creepy texture that some gels have straight from the tube. The Health Warrior Chia bar in coconut was like nothing I have ever eaten. The texture was definitely very interesting and different but I really liked it. The crunch was nice and I could definitely see myself eating some other types of chia bars. I also got to try Caveman Cookies. These cookies definitely have a different flavor to them, but something I could get used to. They are grain and dai

Aqua Zumba!

Image
A few weeks ago, I got a facebook invite to join  Zumba with Adrienne Thoman  as she taught her very first Aqua Zumba class ever. She got certified a few weeks prior and was doing a free demo class at Central Penn College halfway between work and my house. To say I was excited would be an understatement. Only one issue, I had to get someone at work to switch me shifts because this class started at 6pm and I normally work until 7:30pm. Thankfully I do work with some great ladies and I was able to switch and get off at 4:30pm. As soon as it got approved, I message Adrienne and RSVPed for this event. I would definitely switch again for this class. Adrienne is such a fun loving person OUTSIDE of Zumba and even more so in a class. While it was a small group and I have never met any of them before in my life, I had a great time. Adrienne was so open to our feedback as doing Zumba in the water is SO different than on a gym floor with sneakers. The huge challenge for her was making

Hershey Chocolate Tour

While I have been super MIA, I have definitely been busy. Last week was a fun one which I will share about later this week, but for now I want to share my fun race experience from the weekend. This was a race I haven't said much about at all and I am not sure why. I guess because after the fun and excitement of  The Color Run , I have just been focusing more on building mileage for my upcoming first ever, half marathon. So that being said, this Saturday I ran for the  Penn State Chocolate Tour  which had all different distances of biking, 6 mile walk and 6 mile run in addition to a half marathon relay. I stuck with the 6 miler as a good training run for my half. Excited for the start after not the greatest sleep AND having to turn around 15 minutes into the trip to get my garmin. We were seriously almost half way there and I was like OH CRAP! I don't have my watch, we need to turn around. Call me obsessive but seriously my heart sank to my stomach when I realized it. I

Hershey 2.0

This morning I will run my second of three runs in Hershey, PA for this year. This time I ..... via Seriously, every mile has a "rest stop" for a little piece of..... via All I am really hoping for is a little bit of this.... via Reese's are my absolute fave and I hope at least ONE of the SIX miles includes some of these bad boys. Yep.. running 6 miles for chocolate today.. what are you running for? :)

Inspiration Thursday

Image
I hope this week is treating you all well.  I am personally ready for the weekend to spend some time with my husband and take a nice motorcycle ride. But other than that, just riding out the week as usual. Today is treadmill Thursday which will be happening this morning and of course time for some fitness inspiration :) via - we all inspire because we do. No matter what your fitness level, you inspire someone who is just starting, or trying to figure out how. Don't forget that! via  So true. So beautiful. via  Seriously. Enjoy the journey. Enjoy every step along the way. Enjoy each activity. ENJOY it. :) via  You really do. You crave it for so much more than it making you healthy- it is your body and mind's way of working out your stress, or maybe a bad nights sleep, or so much more. What workout do you crave??

This one time...

Ok so where do I begin?  The last time I posted I think I mentioned that I was REALLY struggling with motivation, not only for running but for most anything else too. I think I finally figured it out and although it might be a little TMI- I am going to share anyway. So back in July I counted out the days and I was going to have an unwelcome visitor on our trip to Philly for the Color Run so I decided to just start my next pack of pills. I say this, but please don’t think this is a regular occurrence. It’s really not. The last time I did it was our wedding/honeymoon nearly 4 years ago. Apparently my body had turned on me since then because I had absolutely no issue then and felt like complete death this time around. I will be consulting my doctor on this issue before I even consider doing this again. You see, it literally SUCKED the life out of me. I couldn’t get up in the mornings but then felt exhausted all day long too. Like I could never get enough rest. BLAH!! Anyway, onto mor

Fitness inspiration!

As I shared with you last week, its been a struggle to work out/run lately. This seems to be getting better slowly but surely. Regardless, we all go through these spurts and that is why I LOVE coming by each week to share some of my favorite fitness inspiration. via via via via via via You.. yea you fighter. Decide today is your day and get out there and get it. It is speed training day for me! Be back tomorrow with a little review of my week :) Happy Thursday lovely sweaty ladies!

Slumptastic July

Image
Ok so don't get my wrong. All of July wasn't a slump. After all I started out the month with a random, mostly  unplanned 10k  then had the  Color run  mid month, then a nice long 8 miler on the  Rails to Trails . You might notice a pattern- these were all weekend happenings. During the week at has been a huge struggle for me to get out of bed and going. Don't get me wrong, I think about running and love how it makes me feel but yet this doesn't seem to be enough to get my stupid butt out of my cozy bed. That being said, I did get a nice 7 miler in on Tuesday afternoon. I had to work all weekend and got Monday and Tuesday off. I was busy with lots of things during my days off and a long run was on the to-do list. It wasn't the best fueled run and therefore wasn't the greatest run ever, but I got out there and I was happy. Thursday I finally made it back to a Treadmill Thursday sesh and killed it. Ran for 30 minutes at 9:13 min/miles. Pretty impressed with mys
